Summary: This is quality small business or home office fax machine. It uses laser technology and the replacement cartridges are reasonably priced. It can also be used as a copier or computer printer. It has USB and parallel interfaces if you choose to connect it to a computer. It has worked fine for me with no problems. It is occasionally advertised with a mail in rebate that will bring the cost down to under $100.00

Summary: The brother 4100e IntelliFax Laser Plain-Paper Fax machine is built in good quality, mainly for heavy duty applications. This machine is very reliable. The toner cartridge is relatively inexpensive compare to HP?s. The 8MB memory stores up to 500 pages for out-of-paper reception or memory transmission. This is not a stand alone fax machine. You can hook it up with your PC so you can send fax via PC or use it as a printer. You can use it to copy documents as well (Not for book chapters!).
