Ion Audio Block Rocker portable sound system for iPod THE GOOD: The Ion Block Rocker is a portable, powered speaker system that includes an iPod dock, professional XLR microphone, instrument input, and a rechargeable battery. THE BAD: The sound quality of the Block Rocker is as blunt as it is loud, the speaker is mono, the iPod dock doesnt offer much protection, theres no remote, the system is very heavy, and its design isnt pretty. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you need a durable, portable, and practical way to get loud, the Ion Block Rocker is an impressive and easy-to-use solution.

Ion Audio iPA03 Portable PA with iPod Docking Strengths: This is a great product... long lasting battery, great functionality with both speaker for IPOD and Microphone. Would definately purchase again, it's easily transportable and just an outstanding devic
Weaknesses: Color- white.
Summary: I've charged the battery once and it's continued to press on. I'm very impressed with this device and the quality of this product. I would purchase again. The sound quality is excellent and easily accomodates a very large gathering for audio and microphone speeches.

Delivers on Promise! Strengths: Built-in iPod dock, 6 hour battery life, portability, value for price
Weaknesses: Quite heavy, easy to misplace accessories
Summary: I bought this unit to replace DJ/Live band options for my wedding after my brother suggested a boom box might not cut it. It was an outdoor wedding at the beach, so fighting with sound from waves, wind and gulls could have been a problem. But, the unit was plenty powerful to bring a festive mood to the air. I was warned if I got a cheap unit, the sound would come out tinny, but sound quality was exceptional. It comes with a microphone that was perfect for ceremony and speeches. It was super easy to use. We gave someone a 1 minute lesson just before the ceremony. The battery lasted the whole party and well into the darkness. I was afraid it would look cheap and plastic, but it's good looking and very professional. I think it has 22 watts of power, which doesn't sound like much compared to professional 100 watt PA systems, but it was more than ample for our ceremony. I bought it originally with the intention of reselling it after the wedding to help offset some costs, but my husband likes it so much, we're keeping it and we plan to use it in our new home. It was a huge bargain. I bought it from www.SandECell.com online which I'm reviewing separately, but give a big thumbs up to for price, service and shipping. But, I promised myself if the unit lived up to it's promises, I would post a review and very proud to get to be the first reviewer on this unit. It was a huge bargain with a price tag under $250 compared to a DJ or live band. And we very much enjoyed listening to our own favorite music. I don't know if it would replace a professional unit for a band looking to tour, but it was perfect for our amateur use. The only negative I could think of is it is quite heavy, but it does have wheels and an extendable handle. My husband says the only thing he would mention is that it is too easy to lose the little plastic cover that covers the ipod dock, which went missing at the party. Design-wise, it would be nice if it housed cables and microphone somewhere. They just sit on top of the unit when not in use, so it seems they could get lost at some point, too. But, all of these negatives are things you would still encounter on a professional PA system, too. I guess these are more suggestions.
